    • Going Deeper

      16:30 - 17:30 PRICE: £10

A practice which aims to help you find a deeper connection. A variety of breathing techniques, mobility/joint preparation and using the lens of embodiment as a way to cultivate new patterns of behaviour, not just cognitively, but at the tissue layer of your body.

      Hosted by Jonathan Shanks.

Jonathan completed his 200-hour teacher training in June 2017. His classes are slow and deep, fusing elements from many different movement disciplines, within a vinyasa template. He believes that movement should be fun and playful and that every person is a unique collection of complicated information, so a movement or yoga practice should also be unique and tailored to the individual.

At the start of 2018, he started to work with John Stirk, an osteopath who has been teaching yoga for over 40 years. He is currently working closely with Naomi Absalom as well as training with Fighting Monkey when they are running their workshops within Europe.

His passion is not just for movement but for a balanced approach to health and wellness; seeing the body as a complex set of physiological systems, intricately linked to energy and emotions. He is in his final year of study to become a Nutritional Therapist at the CNM in London and is also a certified TRE (trauma releasing exercises) practitioner.

Jonathan is passionate about helping people become more connected to themselves, via yoga/movement and the cascade effect that this tends to have on nutrition and a general awareness for how to look after the body more intuitively.

    • IN MOTION : PLAY

      10:15 - 11:15 PRICE: £10.00

What would it mean for you to move with enjoyment as the only objective? When was the last time that you moved without an agenda? Not training or perfecting a skill, and not trying to “get it right”. The last time you allowed yourself to truly play?

These are some of the questions that shape this workshop. We offer you a space to re-discover what it means to play. Movement situations, partner games and exercises, inviting curiosity, creativity, unpredictability and adaptability.

A space where you are able to move in ways that you might not have experienced before. To take your joints through their full range of motion, accessing greater awareness of your spine as well as finding a sense of agility and lightness on your feet. An invitation to move from a place of intuition and a felt-space within your body.

“In Motion” is a series of movement workshops which explore different concepts and questions in relation to human connection. Hannah is a yoga and movement teacher, and a Thai yoga massage therapist.  Prior to this, she spent over a decade working with people living with mental health and neurological conditions. She has a background in martial arts, having practised and competed for many years, and now trains in aerial circus. Jonathan is a yoga and movement teacher, and a nutritional therapist, specialising in chronic health management. He is also a TRE practitioner (trauma releasing exercises) and works closely with people to help them meet their body and release stored trauma and tension that resides within the nervous system.

After almost a decade of working with people experiencing stress, anxiety and chronic physical and mental health conditions Hannah’s path led her to yoga and through that Thai yoga massage as a means to connect and support on a “whole person” level. Her therapeutic approach to Thai yoga massage draws on her knowledge of a broad range of techniques from this ancient practice, and is informed by her ongoing studies and exploration of yoga, meditation, anatomy and movement practices. Hannah is also a practicing yoga teacher, working in studios. workplaces, retreats, festivals and events across the UK and Europe.

“Hannah’s hands have a kind of magic to them. I am lifted off elsewhere during massage sessions. Her unique style combines my love of yoga and movement with deep relaxation, so I keep coming back for more.” - Melissa, East London

    • Spiritually Ripped Vinyasa Flow

      11:30 - 12:30 PRICE: £10

Yogic myth has a genius to clothe the infinite in human form’ -Ecknath Easwaran

The myths behind the asanas have much to teach us. Through these myths, the asanas can become true vehicles for transformation, where you no longer need to know the outer asana but the inner asana, the landscape to which the myth refers. A Vinyasa flow that incorporates storytelling and a physical practice to bring deeper meaning to the energetics attached to each posture.

      Hosted by Darren Hunter.

Curiosity, adventure and a fair amount of recklessness has taken Darren to many different parts of the world, discovering connection to others and much to his surprise, his duty in life. From using his theatre skills whilst running away with the circus on a tour of  India, to teaching at a University in the West Bank, he soon realised his calling in unlocking the true potential of others.

As a sporty, football loving kid and triathlon competing, gym loving grown man - wear and tear took its usual toll until his fiancé introduced him to yoga. It was a baptism of fire (literally, his first class was heated to 37 degrees!) but he immediately felt the benefits as the practice built both strength and flexibility helping him to continue hiking up mountains, cycling across the country and swimming in the sea.

Also an advocate of the benefits of the deeper philosophy of yoga, Darren aspires to weave the ancient spiritual practice with fun creative flow, linking it to the modern world through storytelling and having a laugh. Expect his classes to be strong and mindful leaving you with a new perspective both in body and mind, providing space to connect to the best version of yourself.

Darren trained at the Frame Academy in a vinyasa style of yoga with an emphasis on creative flow. He thanks his lucky stars to all the inspirational teachers in his life, Emily-Clare Hill, Michael J Wong, Dimuthu Fonseka and all teachers present and future as he continues his yoga journey.
